Hanoi, Vietnam – September 26, 2025 – Vietnam’s burgeoning artificial intelligence sector received significant global recognition at the annual AI Awards 2025 ceremony, held as a key component of the broader Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Festival (AI4VN). Phung Viet Thang, Country Director of Intel Vietnam and a distinguished member of the jury panel, lauded Vietnam’s technological prowess, asserting that the country’s access to and preparedness for technology are ‘very good’ by international benchmarks.
The AI Awards, an initiative by VnExpress since 2022, serves as a platform to honor groundbreaking AI solutions across diverse sectors including education, healthcare, public services, and commerce. This year’s edition saw an expansion of categories, encompassing Vietnamese AI Solutions, Outstanding AI Devices, Vietnamese AI Engineers, and Notable AI Enterprises, underscoring the nation’s comprehensive approach to AI development.
A notable indicator of Vietnam’s accelerating AI maturity is the doubling of submissions for the 2025 awards compared to the previous year. This surge reflects a dynamic and serious commitment to AI research and innovation within both academia and industry. Thang further commented on the consistency of the technological level displayed by contestants, stating, ‘The technological level demonstrated by this year’s contestants is very consistent, showcasing that our access to advanced technology is on par with global standards.’ He also observed that many submitted products presented well-conceived, practical concepts designed to address everyday challenges in business management and finance from their inception.
