Telenor Pakistan recently organized a comprehensive ‘AI Day’ at its 345 headquarters in Islamabad, an event designed to underscore the profound impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on industries, skill development, and society. The initiative brought together industry leaders, AI experts, and employees for a series of interactive sessions, awards, discussions, and an AI Expo, all focused on fostering innovation and future-ready skills within the Pakistani workforce.

A central component of AI Day was the launch of ‘AI Verse,’ an AI-focused learning pathway specifically crafted to equip Telenor Pakistan’s employees with essential skills for an AI-driven future. This commitment to internal capability building was further complemented by an ‘AI for Everyone’ introductory session, which provided practical insights into prompt engineering and accessible AI tools, aiming to simplify AI adoption across the organization.

The event’s agenda also featured a dynamic panel discussion where prominent industry leaders deliberated on AI’s pivotal role in accelerating Pakistan’s economic growth, alongside addressing the regulatory challenges inherent in its widespread implementation. This dialogue emphasized the importance of a balanced approach to AI integration, focusing on both its potential and its responsible deployment.

A significant highlight of the celebration was the AI Expo, which showcased 10 ongoing AI projects developed by Telenor Pakistan’s own teams. This exhibition provided a tangible demonstration of the company’s innovative spirit and practical application of AI solutions. Further solidifying its leadership in the AI domain, Telenor Pakistan’s ‘Project Thunder’ received top honors in the ‘AI for Innovation’ category at the Telenor Group AI Awards, recognized for its pioneering application of AI in energy management. The company also demonstrated strong engagement in the Telenor Group’s AI Hackathon, with 105 teams from Pakistan submitting ideas, marking the second-highest participation across the entire Group.
